Everytime I open more then one new excel workbook, i get the message saying

PERSONAL.XLS is locked for editing ??


Any ideas ?

Do you hate GETPIVOTDATA?
Prevent GETPIVOTDATA. Select inside a PivotTable. In the Analyze tab of the ribbon, open the dropown next to Options and turn it off

Hi

Sounds like a new instance of Excel is opening up each time and loading Personal.xls (which is already open in your first instance) hence you are getting this message. When you open a second workbook, is it in a standalone Excel? ie If you click on Window, do you see all your workbooks listed or just the new one?

I open up the stand alone excel and it does just show that one in the window..............thanks for looking at all my excel issues :)
