Pivot Table Field Limitations

Can you please tell me whether there is a limitation to the number of row fields that can be used for a pivot table. I am preparing a report which needs around 8 to 10 row fields and 2 data fileds and every time i try to put more than 6 rows Excel shows a message that the change cannot be made since the number of row fields or column fields are more. I cannot afford to use the page field since i need to format all data as row fileds.Please advice.
