Pivot table formatting

Hello,
My pivot table has a border around each cell. When a new entry is entered in the data source a new line appears but it's missing the border on far left cell side and bottom? Any way to get this to keep the border all the way around? Thanks so much!

Excel Facts

Can a formula spear through sheets?
Use =SUM(January:December!E7) to sum E7 on all of the sheets from January through December
Only way I can think is using formula to Conditional Format

Select the entire columns B:F and use the following formula to Conditional Format

Excel Formula:
=B1<>""

Hope it helps.

But I wonder why would you need that with so many Default formats to choose from?

When you click anywhere in the pivot table, by default it shows Pivot table Menu at the top.

From that tab you can select a format of your choice

I guess I'm missing something. No matter what I select when I enter a new month on the data sheet its comes over with those border lines missing still....

You should be able to make it stick for new records but it will still be a bit fragile in that if you add a field that wasn't on there when you formatted it, it won't apply to that.
Option 1
• Expand all the groupings used in the pivot table
• with no filters applied select the entire databody range (everything between the heading and row totals
• Apply your formatting
Like Excel tables you have to do the whole table at once for it to stick when you add data.

Option 2 - Using Styles
@SanjayGMusafir raised a very good point.
A much more reliable method would be to
• Select a Pivot style close to what you want
• Right Click and duplicate the style giving it an easy to remember name
• While duplicating or when modifying Select Whole Table and then apply the borders and any other changes
• Save the changes.
• Then with the pivot table selected apply the new style you created.

I made an attempt to do option 2. Once I named it and clicked ok it went away, nowhere to be found...
