I am trying use dates to filter out by month (mmmyy) but when I change to the format of the date to "mmmyy" I get multiple entries of the same month:

Jan11
Jan11
Jan11
Mar11
Mar11
Jun12
Jun12

It is giving me just as many entires for the month as I have different days in the month. Is there a way to only show 1 entry for each month, or do I have to create a new column to do this?

Excel Facts

Control Word Wrap
Press Alt+Enter to move to a new row in a cell. Lets you control where the words wrap.
Does your raw data include the full date? If so, you can use grouping to achieve this. Right click your pivot field and go to Group and Show Detail, click Group, and select Year and Month.
