Hi,
I know this sounds really dim of me but if I open up power bi, and then use 'get data' I can't see the option to open an
actual pbix file?
I alway just end up going to the folder it's saved in and opening up that way, what am I missing?

Richard.

Excel Facts

Show numbers in thousands?
Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand
Nothing. Why do you want to use a PowerBI solution just as a data source?

Well it just seem odd that the only file you can't seem to open from 'blank power bi' is a power bi pbix file.
So I just wondered if it's possible or not. I take it not.?

Those are two different things. GetData is to use a file as a data source. Opening a Power BI solution is a totally different thing.
It’s like opening a workbook in Excel versus connecting to it as a data source.

Right, I assumed it operated like 'Excel", "word" etc. where you can open a blank copy and navigate to the file wanted.
Not a problem just wanted to know.

Thanks,

You can, but that is File - Open report, not GetData.
