When I try opening an Excel 2007 document it opens Excel as a program but not the specific workbook I've chosed to open. I have to open it separately in the program. Is it a known issue? It's a new problem that I haven't experienced before

Excel Facts

Create a chart in one keystroke
Select the data and press Alt+F1 to insert a default chart. You can change the default chart to any chart type
Click the Office button (top left), click Excel Options, click Advanced, scroll down to General and untick "Ignore other applications...", click OK.

Thank you. Will it speed up my workbook if it's ticked? I don't know what DDE is.

Dynamic Data Exchange. Having it ticked won't speed up your workbook but it will prevent Excel interacting with Windows Explorer as you found.
