I have been struggling so long with this and I'm really in dispair since my last finding was that not all connection types can be updated.
I have a PowerPivot that sources the data from another Excel file. I want to be able to send this PowerPivot file to a number of users and they should all be allowed to use their own raw data file (source) for it (just a file sitting in the same folder as the PowerPivot file). I have done this with success for regular PivotTables but that is not sufficient with the new requirements. I need to step into PowerPivot and that means I need to find a way to handle the connection to the Excel source file programmatically. Many thanks for any directions!

Does the VLOOKUP table have to be sorted?
No! when you are using an exact match, the VLOOKUP table can be in any order. Best-selling items at the top is actually the best.
