Query can't update if source workbook is open

Hello I'm doing tests to see if we can change from google sheets to excel for our yearly budgeting process,

I notice that my query does not uptade if the source workbook is open, I thought it would update with the last saved version of it, the error says something like "Cannot update the connection 'query-queryname' this is the error message obteined:[Datasource.Error] the porcess cannot have acces to the file 'filepath///myfile.xlsx' because is being used in other porcess. (translated from spanish)

The idea was to have data entry workbooks for each area of the company this will land in one workbook and after a little transformation send it back to each area, but if the workbooks need to be closed to update then is an impractical solution
