Question regarding 'tags' attached to cells

Hello -

I've inherited a workbook in which there are 'tags' attached to various cells. These tags have the same display format as a cell comment, but don't show the red triangle that's indicative of a comment. They appear next to the active cell and don't require a mouse-over as a comment does. I can also add comments to cells that have the tags.

Exactly what are these, and how do I add/edit/delete them?

Thanks!

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
Welcome to the Board!

Sounds like you're talking about Error Checking. You can goto Tools-->Options-->Error Checking and turn it off.

Hope that helps,

Thanks for the welcome, Smitty!

I don't believe its error checking. Turning off EC has no effect.

These have been customised for each cell (e.g., 'Sale Amount: enter a dollar figure') and change as I move from cell to cell.
