Refresh Linked Data in a Protected Worksheet

Hello all,

I am new to this forum and hoping that you will be able to help me.

I am working on putting together a data correlation for a work project, and am connecting to an external SQL data source.

I have created several rather large equations to work on the same sheet where the external data is placed, so I would like to have that one worksheet protected.

I have no problem with protecting the work sheet and allowing users to filter the data, but is there a way that I can protect it and allow other users to refresh the data connection? I tried setting up an automatic refresh to fire every x minutes, but it fails due to the sheet being protected.

Any suggestions?

I am using Excel 2010 on Windows 7.

Thanks in advance,
Brandon

Does the VLOOKUP table have to be sorted?
No! when you are using an exact match, the VLOOKUP table can be in any order. Best-selling items at the top is actually the best.
