How do I get a reminder to come up when I enter a certain number in a column? This is such a simple thing for this program to do, I simply cannot figure it out!

How to show all formulas in Excel?
Press Ctrl+` to show all formulas. Press it again to toggle back to numbers. The grave accent is often under the tilde on US keyboards.

Welcome to the Board!

Here's a quick example that you might be able to fit to your needs:

<font face=Tahoma><SPAN style="color:#00007F">Private</SPAN> <SPAN style="color:#00007F">Sub</SPAN> Worksheet_Change(<SPAN style="color:#00007F">ByVal</SPAN> Target <SPAN style="color:#00007F">As</SPAN> Range)
    <SPAN style="color:#00007F">Dim</SPAN> rng <SPAN style="color:#00007F">As</SPAN> Range
<SPAN style="color:#007F00">'   Only look at single cell changes</SPAN>
    <SPAN style="color:#00007F">If</SPAN> Target.Count > 1 <SPAN style="color:#00007F">Then</SPAN> <SPAN style="color:#00007F">Exit</SPAN> <SPAN style="color:#00007F">Sub</SPAN>
    <SPAN style="color:#00007F">Set</SPAN> rng = Range("A:A")
    <SPAN style="color:#007F00">'   Only look at that range</SPAN>
    <SPAN style="color:#00007F">If</SPAN> Intersect(Target, rng) <SPAN style="color:#00007F">Is</SPAN> <SPAN style="color:#00007F">Nothing</SPAN> <SPAN style="color:#00007F">Then</SPAN> <SPAN style="color:#00007F">Exit</SPAN> <SPAN style="color:#00007F">Sub</SPAN>
        <SPAN style="color:#00007F">If</SPAN> Target = 1 Then _
MsgBox "Reminder message here", vbInformation + vbOKOnly, "Message"
<SPAN style="color:#00007F">End</SPAN> <SPAN style="color:#00007F">Sub</SPAN></FONT>

The code goes in the worksheet specific module.

Hope that helps,

Easiest would be to use data validation. Let's say you want a reminder whenever you enter 5 in cell A1. <ul>[*]From the menu Data | Validation...[*]Then in Allow, pick Custom and in Formula put =A1<>5[*]Then on the Error Alert tab, pick a style of Information and then type in a title and your reminder.[/list]

Welcome. Assuming the value is 2 and the column is C:

You can use data validation on each cell in the column (See Data Menu, Validtaion). Excel help is pretty good in this area.

Another option:
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)
If Target.Column = 3 And ActiveCell.Value = 2 Then MsgBox ("Change value")
End Sub

You need to enter this in VBA.
Press Alt-F11
Double click on the sheet you want it in in the left pane
Paste in the above code.
