Dear Excel Gurus/Friends.

Would someone please direct me to the right direction on how I can accomplish this Excel goal.
I have a project management excel file (pls see attached) that has list of parent and child tasks. I would like the parent tasks (Vendor Selection Process) to update according to the subtasks (#2 - #7 are all indented subtasks). The parent start and end date should update depending on the earliest start date on the list of sub tasks and the latest end date for the subtasks as well.
How do I update the percentage complete of my parent tasks based on the current % Done I have in my 7 subtasks?

Thanks very much in advance for any comment or suggestion.

Excel Facts

When they said...
When they said you are going to "Excel at life", they meant you "will be doing Excel your whole life".
Its hard for a formula to evaluate indents. Besides, when it reaches the next parent task or the next set of child tasks, how is supposed to differentiate?

I would suggest creating a hierarchy like 1.0, 1.01, 1.02

The you can use Sumifs to sum only the rows that pertain to that parent. Maybe like Sumifs($H$4:$H$2000,$A$4:$A$2000,">"&A4,$A$4:$A$2000,"<"&A4+1)
Summing all the Percentages where the Task number is greater than the current parent and less than the next parent #
