Can someone explain how I can get excel to run a macro whenever the value of a certain cell is FALSE?

Shade all formula cells
To shade all formula cells: Home, Find & Select, Formulas to select all formulas. Then apply a light fill color.
formula...so it could change depending on values pasted into another tab in the workbook.

Sounds like a job for the WorkSheet_Change Event.

Create that for the sheet you're monitoring, and then add code to check what the cell's value in question is, and run the appropriate code.

Hello,

If the value can change from anywhere within the workbook, put this code into the THIS WORKBOOK code window.

Code:
Private Sub Workbook_SheetChange(ByVal Sh As Object, ByVal Target As Range)
If Sheets("Sheet1").Range("A1").Value = False Then
       'your code here
End If
End Sub
