Scrollbar Control???

Ok I am lost...I need to add a vertical scrollbar to a list that only shows 10 at a time exactly like this:

http://chandoo.org/wp/2008/08/20/create-kpi-dashboards-excel-1/

But of course the article seems to stop sooner than a complete explanation was given. I think where I am lost is where he mentions: =OFFSET(Data!E5,Calculation!$D$5,0) needing to be involved with no clear example?? Frustrating.

Once I figure out the above I then need to figure out how to do a horizontal scroll bar on top of a chart.

Any help from you guys this evening?

Excel Facts

Repeat Last Command
Pressing F4 adds dollar signs when editing a formula. When not editing, F4 repeats last command.
Hard for me to say....the video is an hour long and starts off with something that is only kind of similar to what I am trying to do.

Would love to find a video that shows me exactly what I want to do instead of only kinda like I have only been able to find...

Just to be clear I want to be able to scroll through a list of data items...not use a scroll bar to highlight a data point.

Sorry but I am highly frustrated right now as I purchased a product today that was pretty much nothing...I get a link for yet another excel expert that wants to sell me something without giving an exact explanation of what it is I am trying to accomplish.

I am trying very specifically to accomplish what is shown here:

http://chandoo.org/wp/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/dashboard-table-scroll.xls

Except I need the rest of the instructions.....meaning I need to know where to "write the offset"...

Most of chandoo's explanations are clear...this one though on scrollbars is horrible. It was like he was writing it to himself not considering the level of understanding of some of his readers...

You did download the sample file and look at the finished product? The formulas are in the file.

Did you look at Excel help for a description of the Offset function?

Offset has five arguments and two are optional.

The formula he uses starts with a reference point, Data!E5, from there as you scroll the bar the reference Calculation!$D$5 changes relative to the position the bar is in.

The bar starts at one and can go up to 91. So the second argument of the offset formula is set to Calculation!$D$5 and that contains the number of rows the formula will offset from the starting point Data!E5.

The third argument is not used therefore 0 and the last two are not used at all (they are optional).

Does this help any?
