I know that a cell can contain 32,767 characters. and that the cell can only display 1024. the formula bar will show all 32,767 characters

if I have a cell that has 2000 characters, and I search for a term in that cell...will it be able to search the characters that only show in the formula bar?

Excel Facts

Remove leading & trailing spaces
Save as CSV to remove all leading and trailing spaces. It is faster than using TRIM().
Regardless of whether you use Find from the home tab on the ribbon or one of the search formulas (=FIND, =SEARCH) it will search the entire cell.

Solution
I have read that formulas will only search the first 255 records when you use a formula. Is this the case or how is this different than =find searching the entire cell?

Seems like that should be something that you could easily test for yourself and find out.
