Select all empty cells

I like to colour all empty cells in excel applets, so that the borders can not be seen anymore and the used cells and tables can be seen easily. But therefor I allways have to select all cells, colour these and then recolour the cells with a content.
This takes quiet a lot of time, so I wonder whether there is a possibility to just select all ampty cells !?

I think I found what you wrote about, and it is what I was looking for somehow, but it does not work how I thought it would. It selects only cells whithin the "used space" and as well those which are within a table and surrounded by borders.

I took screenshots to make it easier to understand:
