Hello!
Excel 2010

I'm not a VB programmer, but hoping someone can answer me! I am playing around and have pivot table and want to find out what a Salesperson sold in January.

Actually it is an ElementK exercise of finding Anne's sales for January. The lab book says check off Anne, in the Report Filter, and then put a checkmark in all of January's boxes.

There has to be a simplier way! What if I want 3 months, that is a lot of checking of boxes!!!

So the Pivot table has:
In Main Filter: 'SalesPerson' first and then 'Sale dates' second or underneath.

In the Row labels are 'Products' and has 'Units' for columns heading.

How do I from the Report Filter once I have selected "Anne" then select January dates from the check boxes without having to check everyone single box in January?

I searched the Internet and the older version 2003 had something but in 2007 or 2010 while there is a "Select Multiple Objects" option for the QAT (toolbar) it doesn't recognize the Report Filter as an Object or basically nothing gets listed from the pivot table in it.

Any ideas?

Excel Facts

Test for Multiple Conditions in IF?
Use AND(test, test, test, test) or OR(test, test, test, ...) as the logical_test argument of IF.
Found a way. Tuck this in File 12 for future questions.

In the drop down filter box in the pivot table, there is a Search box at the top of the list for the year.

I typed "1/*/2010" in the search box and only January showed up.

Then I just clicked OK and the results showed below.

I feel so smardt! ;-)
