I'm new to excel and finding it hard to do the following, I wish to seperate a series of numbers into their own coloumns. The numbers are in the format 01:02:03.04 , Note numbers are seperated by colons and full stops. I gather I may need to convert them to text first but all my attempts convert the numbers into something completely different. Can anybody help ?

Excel Facts

Copy a format multiple times
Select a formatted range. Double-click the Format Painter (left side of Home tab). You can paste formatting multiple times. Esc to stop

Welcome to the MrExcel board!

If the data is uniformly 2-digits per section like your sample, then may be this formula, copied across?

Excel Workbook
ABCDE
101:02:03.0401020304
Separate Numbers
