Sorting Changes Cell References

I’ve never had this problem with Excel before so I think maybe I’ve changed a setting or something somewhere…

I’m working on two different sheets (tabs) within one worksheet. On sheet 1 (ingredients) I have a list of values which I’m always adding to. As I add, I need to sort the column to keep everything in alphabetical order.

Sheet 2 (meals) contains cells that reference the values in sheet 1 (ingredients) . So, one reference in Meals might be =Ingredients!D5

When I sort the Ingredients sheet, all of the values change in the Meals sheet. So, rather than following the value to D6, the cell keeps referencing D5.

How can I make sure that the cell containing =Ingredients!D5 always references the same thing rather than always referencing D5?

Is there a shortcut key for strikethrough?
Ctrl+S is used for Save. Ctrl+5 is used for Strikethrough. Why Ctrl+5? When you use hashmarks to count |||| is 4, strike through to mean 5.
