Sorting numbers in a col

When sorting numbers in a col, they come out 1, 10, 11, 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9. How can I make them come out 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11? Thank you, Ironsides

Sounds to me that Excel isn't actually recognising the values as numbers.

Where are the numbers coming from?

thanks Norie, of course, the col was Text not number. Changing it to number fixed it. ( blush blush blush )
