I have a list that user is to pick one job from. Is it possible to assign a spin button on the spreadsheet .

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
How do you mean?

I'm not clear on what you're saying. My best guess: You want a spinner that will roll through the choices in your list. Is that correct? If so, how is the list set up? In cells, in a data validation drop-down list, in a combobox or what?

Hi,

View - Toolbar - Forms has a spin button and so does Control Toolbox, but I don't think this is what you're looking for. Some more data could be of help, but I assume you're looking for either a list box or a combo box (drop down). You find them both in View - Toolbar - Forms.

The latter part of this link explains the combo box: http://www.mrexcel.com/board2/viewtopic.php?t=181172&highlight= and the list box works similar.

But if you use the box from Forms the linked cell will only return a number. Looking at the below sheet the single number next to the range of selections (I can’t display the box) is the linked cell and next to that cell is a formula that returns the actual selection from the box. The range of selections has been numbered.

Post back if this didn’t help you or if you want it in a different way.

Hope This Helps.

Just use Data>Data Validation. List option. One of the most useful features in Excel.

BTW, You can use a SpinButton(Control ToolBar) or a Spinner(Form ToolBar), [There is a difference] but I don't believe it necessary. Also, some coding or perhaps a VLOOKUP might be involved.
