Sum of an array

Hi experts, long time ago!

i have following matrix

A B C
1 x 3 2
2 y 5 1
3 x 1 7

I need a sum from column B:C if there is a x in column a

I have tried this =sumif(A1:A3;"x";B1:C3) but give med 0 Also if i ctrl+shif enter the formula


Answer should be 13 (=3+2+1+7)

In case, you have a blank or other text in the range to sum...

=SUM(IF(A1:A3="x";B1:C3))

which must be confirmed with control+shift+enter, not just enter.
