Hi Guys, I want to sum a range across a number of columns some of which contain numbers and some contain blanks (e.g. =IF(a1="","",B1) which is all well and good until I come to sum across the columns - I get an #VALUE! error. Can you help. Regards Nigel.

Excel Facts

Control Word Wrap
Press Alt+Enter to move to a new row in a cell. Lets you control where the words wrap.
If you use the SUM function rather than +, it will ignore text. For example, if this:
=A1+C1
causes an error due to A1 or C1 having text in them, this won't cause an error:
=SUM(A1,C1)
Both will return an error if either of the source cells actually contains an error though.
