Hello,

I have the following formula which I can't get to work. Have tried and tried and tried again but to no avail.

All of the cells come back as Y, indicating it is FALSE which is not the case.

Is anybody able to help point me in the right direction?

Ta much

=IF($N11="","",IF(SUMPRODUCT(--ISTEXT(SEARCH('Master Sheet'!N11,'RAW DATA'!$A:$A))), "N", "Y"))

Excel Facts

Create a chart in one keystroke
Select the data and press Alt+F1 to insert a default chart. You can change the default chart to any chart type
Re: SUMPRODUCT help pls

Hi, it's not all that clear to me at least what your intent is, but SEARCH() returns a number or an error so will never return TRUE for the ISTEXT() test - maybe you could experiment with this alternative (I might have the "N" and "Y" the wrong way around).

=IF(N11="","",IF(ISNUMBER(MATCH("*"&N11&"*",'Raw Data'!A:A,0)),"N","Y"))
