Hi, I would like to ask a question on the time format. I get a document with times already on it example 01:35:15 depicting HH:MM:SS. When pulling the cell through to another document with a formulae such as the "+" function or the "sumif" function it pulls through 00:00:00 and not the 01:35:15. Why is this happening and how do I change it? I've tried clearing the entire cell and that does not work. When I review the cell it shows me 1900/01/01 00:00:00 and not the cell reference.

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.
Is it 1900/01/01 or 1900/01/00 ?

The first example suggests that your times add up to exactly 24 hours, in which case, if you expect to see 24:00:00 then you need to change the cell format to [hh]:mm:ss

Reading your post again, it looks like I misread what is happening.

I would suggest repeating the same steps on different workbooks and different computers, if possible send the problem document to a different computer for testing.

What you describe is definitely not normal, so the first thing to establish is the origin of the problem.
