I have mistakenly hidden the left side of the VBA worksheet and can't figure how to unhide it. The part that gives the workbook name, worksheet/s and modules on a Mac. How to unhide it to get it back to see the top part of the enclosed pic. Thanks

That looks a lot more promising. Are you able to drag those floating windows to the left margin and get them to stick there ?

Not everything I do at work revolves around Excel. Only the fun parts.

I now have this, though I cannot move the code window !!!
Turns out that dragging down from the Title bar of the Project andProperties windows, makes the entire left to right window into rectangles which can easily be moved. Just can't do anything to the code window and its awkward having lived with it forever on the other side.
Don't know why, but image I want to upload is too big for Mr. Excel

Having said that I have the properties and project windows on right and code on left….but awkward as I said above.

Tried compressing it but doesn't go.

On windows the Properties window is easier to move.
Can you drag the Properties window to the bottom half of the left margin ?

short answer > NO
I currently have project on left third of screen full vertical
properties to the right of it for about quarter of screen full vertical
the rest is code….about a half of screen full vertical

If I drag properties by the title bar down and to the left it shows up as a rectangle almost the width of the screen... not letting go of mouse lest I have to deal with a longitudinal properties issue

I can't resize the project or properties windows vertically, but can horizontally

If "I currently have project on left third of screen full vertical" means on the left side where it is meant to go,
then drag the properties title bar onto the project title bar.

Bill Jelen did a video on it back in 2009 and it hasn't changed since. (2.5 mins).
Didn't fully cover your scenario though.
MrExcel's Learn Excel #601 - Redocking Properties

If you can remember what steps fixed it and you have time to write it up here, you can mark your own post as a solution so it may help others too.
It was truly hit/miss. Would love to help and probably could reproduce it…just worn out for now. So many thanks for sticking with me
