Eleven years ago I wrote a kick-*** ss. Three months ago I was tasked to take over the admin of this ss. 45 people use it, and now, I want to update about 12 cells on everyone's local copy of the ss. The users are spread out over an entire province. Is there a way to create a ss, which contains a list of cells and value which can be "applied" to another ss? Kinda like a firmware upgrade. Call it a "cell update".

Excel Facts

Using Function Arguments with nested formulas
If writing INDEX in Func. Arguments, type MATCH(. Use the mouse to click inside MATCH in the formula bar. Dialog switches to MATCH.
Just found the Data Connections menu option. Tried importing a worksheet from another file and it merges that sheet with the sheet to be replaced in what looks something like an SQL join.

Still working at it...

About that same time ago, I did something similar. I needed to push monthly updates to people (45 managers coincidentally) with the same workbook, but customized for them, so I wrote some VBA code for an update workbook that I e-mailed. It had an Open event that would find the wb in question, open it, apply the changes, close the destination wb, then close itself.

It took a lot of trial and error, but it's doable.

Ok, thanks! I'll look into that method.

In the future, I'm thinking about doing the ss online, so no need for 45 local copies. That would be helpful!
