Using value from a cell that has formula

=G42+G36
=K42-K36

I would like to take the date results from each of the above cells, subtract it from each other and make it appear on a third cell.

I tried this =(G42+G36)-(K42-K36) but it just adds them together.

One last thing please...

I want to take that result and multiply it by another cell containing 500

I did this:
=I46*E46 and got this 67.77
Should be 70.00


I46 value is $0.14
I46 is =(G42+G36)-ABS(K42-K36)
E46 is 500
