Hi,
I have worksheet 1 with a list of companies and worksheet 2 with a list of companies by rank (column A has the rank and column B has the company names).

I would like see which companies from worksheet 1 are in the company rankings of worksheet 2, and return the rank number to worksheet 1.

Thanks!

Hi...

Welcome to the Board....

If you can change the sheet 2 column from B to A then try this...

=VLOOKUP(A1,Sheet2!A:B,2,FALSE)

Drag down till your range is set...

If you cannot (or don't want to) rearrange the rows you can use the following

pasted in B1 of Worksheet 2 and dragged down.
=INDEX('Worksheet 1'!A:A,MATCH('Worksheet 2'!A1,'Worksheet 1'!B:B,0),1)

This will return the rank if the company is in Worksheet 1 or it will return #N/A if not.
