Heyyy

I have created a lookup list with codes, item descriptions and quantity-per-batch. Some of the codes start with leading zeroes, example : 00510, 00530 etc etc

but some of the codes also have all the 5 digit codes, for example 60502, 60507, 77802.

These codes have been formatted as text.

In another sheet in the same file, using vlookup, i want to get item description and quantity per batch by just inputting the code. The code cells have also been formatted as text.

It only works for codes starting with leading zeroes but not for the others.

Kindly advise on how i could make my file work, regardless of the code.

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
heyyy

I've been trying it again, i think i got it working. I was making up an example, and for some reason, this time it worked.

I'll let you know if there is any problem.

Thank you!
