Hi

I have seen a vlookup within one spreadsheet that if there not a value then it is left blank although the formulae appear to be the same
=VLOOKUP(@$A:$A,CountryLookup!$A:$J,8,FALSE)

Yet when I use my spreadsheet the response is 0
=VLOOKUP(@$A:$A,CountryLookup!$A:$J,8,FALSE)

How can I get the first result please

Thank you

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
Returning 0 is what happens by default when a cell is empty, the other sheet will have something like a formula that returns a blank in the cell that the lookup is getting the result from.

If your results are always going to be text then you can simply use =T(VLOOKUP(.....)) to return a blank.

Thanks for the reply - T(VLOOKUP....) does the trick, never come across it before so perfect
