I have a range of cells in a column that contain the text "In Process" and "Completed". I want to search or vlookup the cells and return "In Process" if any of the cells in the range indicate "In Process". If all of the cells indicate "Completed" I would like to return the value "Completed".

What is the fastest way to copy a formula?
If A2:A50000 contain data. Enter a formula in B2. Select B2. Double-click the Fill Handle and Excel will shoot the formula down to B50000.
=IF( countif(A:A, "in process")>0, "in process" , "completed")

this assumes if there is no "in process" then it must all be completed
