Why am I able to type over the info displayed on my Pivot?

My latest pivot table allows me to type over displayed information using any key stroke. After this first happened every pivot table I produce allows this. As well as all those done by my fellow workers. It also moves the information in the cells below the "corrupt" cell one cell down. As we know it should not be possible to "change" a pivot table in this way.

Is there perhaps a global excel setting that has been altered?
