I am trying to use a basic formula D2+E2, but it wont add the time right. It should say 2:07 for time stop. (2:07+00:00) but it says 7 minutes. Any ideas why?

As I wrote at Reddit (click here)....

My guess is: it has to do with the format of the cells. In other words, what we see is not what the values actually are. It is an illusion created by how your formatted the cells.

For a dispositive answer, it would be better to post a link to an Excel file that demonstrates the problem instead of an image.

It will help if you post an extract of your sheet with the forum's tool XL2BB.
What are your system's Regional Setting and Excel settings for Time?
Did you try your calculation with a new clean file?
What information in in the cells with General Format?

FYI, the discussion is progressing in the Reddit thread.

What are results if you format all the cells Time hh:mm:ss?

FYI, the problem was: column F didn't have formulas at all, much less of the form =D2+E2.

Instead F2 et al contain stale(?) constants.

When all cells are formatted as [h]:mm:ss and actual formulas are entered into column F, all of the data and sums are copacetic.

Still awaiting confirmation in the Reddit discussion that that does indeed resolve the OP's problem -- or perhaps he simply uploaded the wrong Excel file.

(The OP had provided a link to an example Excel file in the Reddit discussion.)
