SUMIFS exclude duplicate rows

Hello everyone,

I have the below table :

Client ID	Policy Number	Number of Employees	Gross
1100	1001	10	50000
1100	1001	10	50000
1100	1001	10	50000
1100	1001	10	50000
1100	1002	20	100000
1100	1002	20	100000
1100	1003	30	150000
1100	1003	30	150000
1100	1003	30	150000
2100	2001	10	50000
2100	2001	10	50000
2100	2002	10	50000
2100	2002	10	50000

<tbody>
</tbody>

and I want to know the total of employees per client code exclude duplicate policy number ( not summing number of employees under same policy number)
For example,

Client ID	Total Employees
1100	=10 for policy number 1001 + 20 for policy number 1002 + 30 for policy number 1003 = 60
