hey everyone

im creating a simple task list that is seperated by days (Sunday through Saturday)

3 different task split between 3 different people

beside the task there is a drop down menu for whoever is assigning tasks for the week - however though my question or problem im having is that im trying to do a chart that shows in a weeks time how often is "Person A" doing task 1, task 2, task 3

but i get an issue to make the chart since i cant get the adequate data first..

im trying to do a countif(A2,A12,A22,B2,B12,B22,C2,C12,C22,"Person A") it comes back as too many arguments for this function

any inputs?

Excel Facts

Select all contiguous cells
Pressing Ctrl+* (asterisk) will select the "current region" - all contiguous cells in all directions.
Note that depending on your country you will use either “;” or “,” as a separator.

=SUM(COUNTIF(INDIRECT({"b1:b10";"c5:c15";"d7:d17"}),"Person A"))
