Hi,

In A1 I have blank containing formulas. In B1 I have in IF function a logical test checking if A1= blank then TRUE. I tried =IF(isblank(a1).... and IF(a1="")... but somehow it returns false. What to do?

Excel Facts

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.
="" is an empty string not a blank

=ISBLANK(A1)=LEN(A1)=ISFORMULA(A1)=ISTEXT(A1)=FORMULATEXT(A1)
