Access Charts results different than query

I am having an issue with my charts returning higher results than the query I am running them from. I have a query that counts the top ten items used in the last year. I am trying to create a subform or subreport for each chart I need so I can add it to a larger form or report. The problem is that my charts return a value different that my query. I am new so I assume that the chart does not rely on the values from the query but the values total. Any help or direction to a tutorial would be greatly appreciated.
