adding a lot of text

Many times working with Excel I must insert text, a
lot of text. Earlier it was easy to stretch a cell here and there
but as time went on the accounts stayed the same but the text grew to 6 or 7 lines it has become difficult to format the required line space to handle it. I tried using what the program calls the development tab but I have not been able to find it. I cannot be the only one on the planet with this problem. Any help would
be most welcome. If there is anyone that can turn on a light or two I’d be grateful, running out of rope!

Excel Facts

Ambidextrous Undo
Undo last command with Ctrl+Z or Alt+Backspace. If you use the Undo icon in the QAT, open the drop-down arrow to undo up to 100 steps.
I addition wrap text If you use Control + Enter get a new line. So you do not put spaces to get something on a new line.

Hello to FDibbins & Scott T,

Thank you for your time responding to me. When I have Excel open I highlight a give number of cellsto grant the
space I figure I need to accommodate the text IO want toinsert. Then I format the cells using wrap text and merge cells. Excell tells me a mismatch of space do I wish to continue. Yes, I then get another
box saying a mismatch of cell range and that’s as far asI can get.

Both Scott and I were talking about working with a single cell - in Scott's case, he was talking about using CTRL ENTER while entering text into a cell.

We always advice trying to avoid using Merge and Center, it can cause all sorts of problems with formulas.

Can you walk me though (step-by-step) what you are doing/trying to do?

Trying to login and unable to answer messages
something wrong with home page login. Top part
of header flashes’ on screen but not long enough to
login??????????????? I got it!

Thank you for your return mail. I think my problem was or
is one of size. Taking the # or size of an Arial font at 12 you
can immediately see the size factor. Now with that considered
and knowing that I am attempting to put 6 or 7 lines into the program.
You can understand the problem. Working inside of Excel early this
morning I have managed to introduce myself to a new friend.
His name is “Text Box” and he lives on the “Insert” tab!
Working slowly with the program at first, instead of against it,
I learned that I could actually insert almost a full sheet of text if
necessary; all’s right with the world!

Thank you to all who gave of their time to help me, it was
nice to meet all of you.

thanks again,

pa bill
