If I use

Code:
application.caption = "my program"

it will display

my program - file name

is there a way to drop the file name

I PUT THE CODE IN THE IMMIDIATE (ALT-F11 & CNTRL-G) IF I JUST ENTER THE FIRST LINE IT WORKS ONE TIME AFTER I SAVE IT AND RE-OPEN THE FILE THE CAPTION DOESN'T SHOW UP JUST THE SAME DEFAULT HEADING WHAT AM I DOING WRONG..I USE EXCEL 2000..COLLEEN

Why are placing your code in the immediate window? Please post the problematic procedure (which belongs in a normal module).

It's hard to prescribe a medication based on my readings, I don't understand the described symptoms/infliction...

I'm fairly certain that whatever code your referring to does not belong there, skip the ctrl-g step. Insert a module, put her there.

Still, you could post this procedure. ;)
