I have a problem with Excel 97, I click in a cell and then the system behaves as if the left button is still down. i.e. the only thing it does is highlight cells. I have found two solutions to the problem - either ctrl-alt-del and end task on excel, or emulate a middle mouse button click. Once the behaviour starts the problem stays even through a reboot if solution 1 is applied, solution 2 fixes it.
I suspect that there is a hidden macro which causes this behaviour as the spreadsheet which triggered it caused the standard macro warning to appear when it was opened. Previously this spreadsheet did not contain any macros.
Any suggestions on how this behaviour could be generated, or how I find the 'hidden'?? macro would be greatly appreciated.

How to create a cell-sized chart?
Tiny charts, called Sparklines, were added to Excel 2010. Look for Sparklines on the Insert tab.
right mouse over the sheet name, and select view code.

If not alt and F11 to open vb, and double click on the workbook project explorer (Ctrl R)
