Hi All
Got a lot of help from this site.....thanks a mil.

One other thing that causes me a lot of trouble:
Have a remote pc connecting through a map drive to a local server.
This remote pc updates a file with production figures that pulls through to a dashboard. (Only a shortcut on the remote pc to open the one book from the server)
From the local server, the order are captured and update the file that are displayed on the remote pc. (Both files in a folder on the server)
Both the books are in one folder on the server.
Just a short cut created on the remote pc through a map drive.
When using both files only on the server, it update immediately each other but when using the remote pc with the shortcut, it doesn`t update.
I had to put in auto updated links that are getting triggered every couple of minutes to force the updates from both files to update each other, though both files are actually on the same server?
These triggers causes various other small issues.

Question is why will the files not update each other immediately through a map drive as I only make use from a short cut to open the one file?
(Tried mapping with pc names and ip`s)
Any workaround this to get rid of the timers?

Thanks
