Hi,

I am trying to work out the status of something based on a date, while first checking a column to see if something is complete.

=IF(L6>$L$4,"Pending","Expired") – This is in cell M6

L6 contains todays date
L4 contains the date a piece of work was due to be completed.
I need the formula to be

In column Q I have a cell which contains a state of either Y or N, which relates to the work being completed.

If column Q contains a Y I want the result to be “completed”, otherwise display pending or expired based upon the date values.

So in Pseudo if column Q is Yes, then “Completed” ELSE =IF(L6>$L$4,"Pending","Expired")

I’m just a little stuck on how to write this, any help much appreciated.

Thanks

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
