I want VSTACK to return the FILTER formulas across spreadsheets (same location), not the values.

Is that at all possible?

Excel Facts

Ambidextrous Undo
Undo last command with Ctrl+Z or Alt+Backspace. If you use the Undo icon in the QAT, open the drop-down arrow to undo up to 100 steps.
I suggest that you update your Account details (or click your user name at the top right of the forum) so helpers always know what Excel version(s) & platform(s) you are using as the best solution often varies by version. (Don’t forget to scroll down & ‘Save’)

You could try the formulatext function.

No - a VSTACK formula will always return the value of a cell, not its formula. I don't really understand why you would want to?

I have similar FILTER formulas across several sheets and would like to centralize them to make the future update/maintenance easier.

But you would then need to copy them back to the sheet they came from.

Yes, eventually. I would maintain as text in my control center and copy back to source in case of update. More visible than burying in VBA code.

I would have thought it would be easier to just change the formula, rather than changing some text, copying to where it's needed & then converting it back to a formula.

Or use LAMBDAs.

Ended up doing everything in PowerQuery with the steps renamed for clarity and comments added for documentation :)

Thanks pointing that something was not right!
