Hi All,

A colleague's chart area contains a 'smudge' that he has not been able to remove.

The smudge remains when the fill colour is changed or no-fill and moves with the chart.

Attached is a screen-shot of the chart. The smudge is in the centre of image, between the red and black lines.

I plan to delete the chart containing the smudge and re-create it but wondered if anyone on this forum has experienced/solved a similar problem.

Many thanks for reading my post about this minor aesthetic issue.

Excel Facts

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
Without the workbook, it's all a bit of guesswork, but it looks like a single data point marker to me.

Hi Rory,

Many thanks for your feedback.

I cracked it! It was a shadow applied to one data series that had size of 1% (rhetorical question: When would you use that feature?!).

Colleague must have been experimenting with the 'shadow' and 'glow' options at some point.

Have a good day.
