Can't get rid of Underline format in cell A1

When I enter any thing in cell A1 it is underlined. No other cell is affected and this happens on a new worksheet. Can you help me?

Does this happen when you create a new workbook too? Do you have any macros? Is there any chance that the information you are typing might be interpretted as a hyperlink? Did you leave the iron on?
