I apologise if this is ultra basic but I've self-taught Excel and probably don't know some very basic things!
When I close an Excel file my computer switches to another open Excel file...how do I stop this PLEASE!!! I work with a few files open at a time. I'm on a Mac using 365.
Many thanks in advance!

Select a hidden cell
Somehide hide payroll data in column G? Press F5. Type G1. Enter. Look in formula bar while you arrow down through G.

I don't use a Mac but where do you want to go when you close an Excel file and how would Excel or your Mac know where you wanted to go?

Hi,
Thank you for your speedy response and welcome!
Yes, I guess that sounded silly, but I just presumed once I closed an Excel file I'd be faced with a blank desktop so I could flick to the neighbouring word or PowerPoint file! I keep the Word/PowerPoint/Excel files I'm working on next to each other and frequently have 10-15 desktops open. I was hoping there'd be a setting on Excel preferences that would stop the jump to another Excel file, but maybe not!
Thanks!
