Code for Data Extraction

I need a pointer which code to use for pulling select data from a file. The file contains a lot of data that I do not need. I am currently dropping it into excel and then doing a text to columns to separate out what I need and would like to figure out a way to do it faster.

Whats the difference between CONCAT and CONCATENATE?
The newer CONCAT function can reference a range of cells. =CONCATENATE(A1,A2,A3,A4,A5) becomes =CONCAT(A1:A5)
