Arthurbr,

Yours does work after I changed the cell reference, the formula is basically the same I just did not understand what it was doing when I tried yours, both of you thank you for the help and now lets win the lottery.

Hi Drrellik,

If you have only one column, both formulas do the job.

But if you have two or more columns, then you have to use one CF for each column to the Arthurbr's formula work.

Try the example of the post #9 and tell me the result.

Excel Facts

Show numbers in thousands?
Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand
Markmzz,

My original post have one column with a reference cell, so you are correct the first solution did not do what I wanted because I selected my entire range starting at A2 and then created the CF =A2=$B$2 where my value was and it only selected the cells with a matching value, after you posted about selecting the cell above i.e. T8 vs T9 and creating the CF I was able to make it work, I even moved the reference cell to the top of the column, so as the top cell value changes so does the highlighted cells.

either way thank you both for the help I understand CF a little bit better now and it is working.
