Hello all-
I have a long row of dates formatted as 'general' that looks like this:
20170329

How can I fix it to read:
03/29/2017

Thank you!
Julie

Excel Facts

Easy bullets in Excel
If you have a numeric keypad, press Alt+7 on numeric keypad to type a bullet in Excel.
Highlight the column
Select "Text to Columns" from the Data menu
Hit Next until you get to Step 3
Choose the Date radio button option, and choose the YMD date format
Click Finish

It is now a date, and you can apply any date format you desire to that column.
(No formulas, VBA, or helper columns needed!).

Another way, if your numbers are always 8 digits:

=DATE(LEFT(A1,4),MID(A1,5,2),RIGHT(A1,2))
